# How do I find which websites AI answers cite?

> Analyse cited domains and pages, distinguish owned and third-party sources, and trace citations back to collected AI answers.

Open **Sources** to explore the domains and pages cited in your workspace's collected AI answers. Use the answer's evidence view to see citations in the context of a specific response.

## Start with domains, then inspect pages

Domain-level summaries help you identify recurring publishers, competitors, and your own website. Page-level detail shows which individual URLs appear. Several cited pages can belong to one domain, so domain counts and page counts are not interchangeable.

Use the relevant date, platform, and prompt filters before comparing sources. A domain that dominates one topic may have little influence on another.

## Separate citations from mentions

An answer may mention your brand without linking to your website. It may also cite your website while discussing the wider category. A citation shows that a source was referenced in the collected answer; it does not establish that the source caused a recommendation or determines the platform's overall ranking.

Open a cited page and read the part relevant to the answer. Check the publication's topic, the brand information it contains, and whether that information is accurate. This gives you a more useful next step than pursuing a domain solely because it appears in a chart.

## Investigate missing citations

Some answers do not expose source links. Keep “no captured citations” separate from “the platform did not use any sources.” If you can see a citation in the answer but not in the source view, retain the answer reference and contact support through the dashboard.
