# Which questions should I monitor for AI search visibility?

> Build a useful AI monitoring prompt set across discovery, comparisons, use cases, and branded questions.

Monitor questions that someone could ask while researching your category or deciding between products and services. A useful prompt set includes discovery, use-case, comparison, and branded questions, with each group answering a different marketing question.

| Question type | Illustrative prompt | What it helps you investigate |
| ------------------ | --------------------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Category discovery | Which project management tools suit a small design agency? | Whether AI introduces your brand without being prompted |
| Specific need | Which project management tools support client approvals? | Whether your features are associated with the right use cases |
| Comparison | How does Example Brand compare with another provider for agency work? | How AI differentiates named alternatives |
| Branded research | What are the strengths and limitations of Example Brand? | How AI describes your positioning and trade-offs |

Replace the examples with your category and real customer questions. Sales calls, support conversations, site-search queries, and your existing search research can help you identify the wording to test.

## Avoid a biased prompt set

Including your brand in every question makes mentions much more likely. Keep branded research separate from unbranded discovery when reviewing visibility. Similarly, a question that asks for a list of ten providers is a different test from a question asking for one recommendation.

Keep wording stable when comparing dates. Changing the question, platform, or region can change the answer independently of any change to your website or marketing.

## Organise before scaling

Create [groups](/docs/workspace/groups-and-personas) for product categories, markets, or customer needs. Begin with a manageable set you can read manually, then use [bulk import](/docs/getting-started/bulk-import-prompts) to extend it. Prompt coverage is valuable when the questions represent your business; a larger count alone does not make the results more representative.
