# How can an AI assistant analyse referrals and crawler activity?

> Investigate existing AI referral traffic and crawler logs without exposing credentials or changing integrations.

AI referrals and crawler logs are read-only through the connector. The underlying integration must already be configured in Chatobserver.

## Analyse AI referral traffic

Where referral data is available, ask the assistant to inspect:

* the overview and daily series;
* landing pages;
* referring AI platforms or sources;
* devices;
* individual events; and
* sessions.

Example:

> Show AI referral traffic to Clean Digital for the last 30 days. Compare landing pages and referrers, then list the sessions behind the largest change.

If the workspace has no connected project, the assistant can explain that setup is missing but cannot create or modify the integration.

## Analyse crawler activity

Ask the assistant to show:

* the crawler overview;
* activity over time;
* the most visited pages;
* the most active crawler identities; or
* filtered individual events.

Available filters include recent periods, crawler, path, verification state, response status and event type. Results can be sorted and continued through multiple pages.

Example:

> Which verified AI crawlers visited our site in the last 30 days? Show their most requested pages and separate successful requests from errors.

## Export crawler events

The assistant can export up to 5,000 recent crawler events as CSV using the same filters. Narrow the period, crawler or path if you need a more focused file.

## What stays protected

The connector cannot:

* create, edit or delete referral or crawler integrations;
* retrieve integration credentials or secrets;
* infer visits from crawler requests; or
* treat an unverified user agent as a verified crawler.
