# How do I give my team access to a chatobserver workspace?

> Invite collaborators, understand organisation and workspace ownership, and manage access to brand data.

Use **Access** to manage the people who can work with your brand's monitoring data. Check the organisation and workspace before sending an invitation, especially when you manage several clients.

## Invite a collaborator

Open the intended workspace, go to **Access**, and use the invitation controls. Enter the recipient's work email and choose the appropriate role. The recipient should accept using the same email address that received the invitation.

Organisation membership and workspace membership serve different purposes. The organisation owns workspaces and billing; workspace access determines the brand data a person can use. Review both when onboarding an agency colleague or client.

## Choose the appropriate role

Owners, admins, and members have different management permissions. Give management access only to people responsible for administering the relevant organisation or workspace. Billing ownership can impose an additional restriction on subscription changes.

Review access when a colleague changes responsibilities or leaves a client account. Removing access and deleting workspace data are separate actions; do not delete a workspace merely to remove a collaborator.

## Share a report without sharing the workspace

Use a [shared report](/docs/reports/share-report) when someone needs a specific published result rather than dashboard access. Choose its access restrictions and download permissions deliberately. An unlisted link can be opened by anyone who has it.

If an invitation opens the wrong account or a workspace is missing, see [sign-in and access troubleshooting](/docs/troubleshooting/sign-in-and-access).
