Check your own-brand identity
Ask the assistant to show the current own-brand name, primary domain and any suggested identity before confirming or editing it. Confirming acknowledges the existing identity without changing it. Owners and admins can instead set the correct name and public domain. Changing this identity can update historical attribution, so review it carefully.List and inspect tracked competitors
The assistant can:- list active and archived competitors;
- search by name;
- inspect one competitor’s name, domain, aliases and state; and
- list the identifiers for individual aliases when a specific alias needs to be removed.
Discover possible competitors
Chatobserver can surface brand identities found in collected answers. Ask the assistant to show discoveries with their confidence and evidence, then decide whether each identity should be:- attached to an existing competitor;
- created as a new competitor; or
- excluded from future review.
Use a staged competitor review
For several discoveries, the assistant can create a personal review session, stage choices without changing workspace brands, and apply the reviewed set when you approve it. If some decisions conflict with newer changes, the result explains which items applied and which require another review. A partial result should never be presented as though every decision succeeded.Add, edit, archive or restore competitors
Owners and admins can ask the assistant to create competitors, edit their supported fields, and archive or restore them. Your own brand cannot be archived. Before creating a competitor, ask the assistant to search active and archived brands for duplicates.Manage name and domain aliases
Aliases help Chatobserver recognise alternate names and domains in existing and future answers. Owners and admins can add or remove a reviewed alias. These changes can update attribution across existing evidence. Example:Check whether “Example Co”, “Example.com” and “Example UK” already belong to the same competitor. Show the existing aliases and supporting answers before proposing any change.
Compare competitor performance
Ask the assistant to compare tracked brands by:- mentions and share-of-voice trends;
- average position in answers;
- visibility;
- sentiment;
- cited sources;
- groups; and
- supporting answer evidence.
