Choose platforms and regions in the prompt editor. Each selection defines where chatobserver collects answers for that question. Start with the platforms your audience uses and the markets where you offer your product or service.
Platform and region controls in the prompt creation dialog

Each selected platform and region defines the answers you want to collect.

Choose your coverage

Open a prompt, select its platforms, and choose the relevant regions. New prompts start with ChatGPT selected. The editor shows which additional platforms are available to your workspace and which offer an access request. Google AI Overviews and AI Mode are distinct search experiences. Track and compare them as separate platforms. For more context, see the AI Overviews tracker, AI Mode tracker, Gemini tracker, and Claude tracker.

Compare like with like

Use the same question, region, date window, and platform when investigating a change. Differences between platforms are useful findings, but should not be mistaken for a time trend within one platform. Region selection provides market context. It is not a substitute for writing the question in the appropriate language or specifying a relevant location in the question itself.

Account for answer allowance

Selecting more platform and region combinations increases the monitoring work associated with a prompt. Review usage and allowance alongside the schedule before expanding a large prompt set. If a platform has an access-request option, follow the early-access guide. Approval applies to the workspace, so collaborators do not need to submit duplicate requests.
