Usage Limits & Credit Holds
Chatobserver pricing revolves around prompt volume and the number of AI answers analyzed each month. Staying on top of credits prevents sudden automation pauses.
Plan components
- Prompt slots – Maximum number of active prompts allowed simultaneously.
- Analysis credits – Pool of AI answers that can be processed per billing period. Each platform response consumes one credit.
- Historical retention – How long prompt runs and analytics data remain queryable.
Owners can review the current plan in Settings → Plan & usage.
Monitoring usage
- The Credit usage widget summarizes remaining credits, total used this period, and the renewal date.
- Credits refresh at the start of each billing cycle unless you’re on a custom contract.
- Drill into consumption by switching the Prompts tab to sort by
Last runandRun count.
Credit holds
- When credits hit zero, Chatobserver pauses automation and displays the Credit hold banner on the Overview tab.
- Prompts remain in place but do not run until credits are restored.
- Manual runs are blocked while on hold to prevent unintended charges.
Clearing a hold
- Purchase a top-up or upgrade your tier from Plan & usage.
- Once payment succeeds, prompts resume automatically at their next scheduled window.
- If you need a one-time extension, email support@chatobserver.com with your workspace ID.
Invoices & receipts
- Owners can download invoices and update payment methods from the billing section.
- Stripe receipts are emailed to the billing contact on file.
- For procurement teams, add purchase order numbers in the billing settings to have them surface on invoices.
Alerts
- Owners receive email and in-app notifications when credit usage exceeds 80% of the monthly allocation.
- Set calendar reminders ahead of major launches to ensure enough credits are available for high-frequency prompts.
Downgrades & cancellations
- Downgrading mid-cycle takes effect on the next renewal date.
- Cancelling immediately pauses automation and retains access until the end of the current term. Export prompt runs before closing the workspace if you need an offline archive.
